Shahabuddin's son gets bail, handed over to Bihar cops

KOTA: Former Siwan MP late Mohammad Shahabuddin's son Osama Shahab and his friend Saif were handed over to a Bihar Police team in a property-related case in Siwan after the SDM court in Ramganjmandi town of Kota district granted them bail on Tuesday, police said.

Osama was arrested along with his friends Saif and Wasim on Monday. Wasim was also granted bail.

Osama and Saif were wanted in a property-related case in Siwan district of Bihar, Ranganjmandi police station SHO Manoj Berwal said.

According to police, the three were arrested after the police saw them moving in their car in a suspicious manner near Pundwa check-post. The three men, aged around 30-35, were driving a car with a Delhi registration number.

The police arrested the three for interrogation under Section 151 of IPC as they were responding suspiciously, Berwal said. They were granted bail in the case on Tuesday. According to police, Osama and his friends told them they had been coming from Delhi and going to Goa.

When police checked with their counterparts in Bihar, they were informed that Osama and Saif had been booked in a property case in Siwan. Siwan police had booked Osama on October 7 this year for allegedly threatening a person for 42 kathas of land.

The FIR had been registered at the Hussainganj police station under IPC Sections 147, 149, 447, 427, 120B, 504, 506 and Section 27 of the Arms Act on the statement of one Abhishek Kumar alias Jimmy. Osama was also named in a case of firing in Motihari.
