Patna: A vigilance investigation bureau (VIB) team on Tuesday arrested a state food corporation (SFC) district manager from Purnia for allegedly taking Rs 1.15 lakh as bribe for the payment against his outstanding bills.
One Vijay Kumar of Purnia lodged a complaint with the VIB against the district manager, Subodh Kumar Jha. DG (vigilance) Ravinder Kumar said, “A VIB team led by DSP Arun Shukla arrested Jha while taking Rs 1.15 lakh as bribe from the complainant at his rented accommodation at Purnia.”
He said Jha had allegedly demanded Rs 1.30 lakh from the complainant and settled the deal at Rs 1.15 lakh.
Later, the VIB team conducted raid at Jha’s residence and recovered Rs 10.27 lakh from there, the DG said, adding that simultaneously search operation was being conducted at his residence in Shivpuri locality in the state capital.
