Quadruple murder case: Two brothers among four arrested in Rohtas
Sasaram: Kaimur police on Sunday claimed to have solved the sensational quadruple murder case in which two brothers allegedly killed their elder brother, his wife and their two children before dumping the bodies in suitcases and sacks at different locations in the district. The prime accused, along with his brother and two others, has been arrested in connection with the case.
SP Harimohan Shukla said the incident took place in Dahark village under Ramgarh police station area. The prime accused, Vikas, allegedly carried out the killings with his younger brother Rahul alias Gautam, friend Deepak Kumar Rajput, a resident of Kannad in Maharashtra, and others. A woman has also been detained and is being questioned.
During interrogation, Vikas allegedly said his elder brother Krishna Murari Gupta used to assault family members. Around 10 days before the incident, he had allegedly beaten his differently-abled younger brother Rahul. Their mother later informed Vikas, who was in Maharashtra, following which he returned home.
Police said Vikas stabbed Krishna, his wife Durgesh Kumari and their two children to death. He then dismembered the bodies, packed them in sacks and suitcases, and disposed of them at different locations on a scooter to mislead investigators.
The SP said a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, the weapon used in the crime, a scooter, an iron rod and other incriminating materials were recovered from the house. Blood stains were also found at the scene.
The case came to light on May 10 when suitcases containing human remains were recovered from the Durgavati river bridge and nearby areas on the Mohania-Ramgarh road. Forensic teams, dog squads and technical experts were deployed after an initial case was lodged against unknown persons, leading to the arrests.
