: A man allegedly stabbed his younger brother multiple times near Kathpul in Mandiri under Buddha Colony police station area in state capital on Thursday morning over property dispute.
The accused is
Pawan Verma (45). He is evading arrest after the incident. His injured younger brother is
Sahil
Verma (25).

said Sahil was stabbed at least four times in chest and abdomen.
“He is presently under treatment at
Patna medical college
and hospital in critical condition,” he said adding raids were on to arrest Pawan.
SHO said Sahil was going somewhere when Pawan approached him. “Sahil stopped assuming Pawan had come to talk but instead he was stabbed,” he said.
Bhushan said that the Pawan along with two brothers including Sahil lived in their own house built on five dhur plot in Digha earlier while one brother lives in Delhi.
“Former neighbours in Digha told police that regular clashes and scuffles used to take place with Pawan on one side and rest two brothers and their mother on the other side over the house and the small plot on which it was built. The family finally sold it in February this year around Rs 17 lakh,” he said.
Bhushan said Pawan started living on rent in Digha while two brothers including Sahil and their mother shifted in a rented accommodation in Mandiri.
The
SHO
said police have come to know that the mother had kept all the money from property sale.
“Pawan was aggrieved that why the house built by him was sold without asking him and why he had not been given any share. The stabbing was fallout of this grievance,” he said.
Bhushan said two FIRs for attempt to murder were lodged by Pawan and Sahil on each other in November and December last year with Digha police station too.
