Patna: BJP national president
Nitin Nabin on Saturday said the party’s core objective was not merely to attain power but to place national interest above everything else and ensure development reached the last person in society.
Addressing party workers after inaugurating the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya training mega-campaign in Patna, Nitin also launched a special exhibition highlighting the BJP’s organisational journey and achievements of the Narendra Modi-led govt over the past 12 years.
“This exhibition effectively showcases the struggles, dedication, and penance of the great party workers who dedicated everything to nurturing the organization. It also highlights the public-welfare initiatives and achievements accomplished over the past 12 years under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, as well as the developmental efforts undertaken by the ‘double-engine’ NDA govt in Bihar,” he said.
Speaking on his 46th birthday, Nitin said the BJP’s journey from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founded in 1951 to becoming the country’s largest political party was built on the sacrifice and commitment of workers.
“The ideological foundation of the BJP rests upon the nationalist thought of Syama Prasad Mookerjee and the philosophy of Ekatm Manavvad propounded by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya,” he said.
Referring to the Emergency period, Nitin said thousands of nationalist workers had endured imprisonment to defend democracy and constitutional values.
“The BJP’s politics has always been rooted in principles. Our greatest strength lies in a dedicated cadre of workers. Within the BJP, even a worker at the booth level is regarded as the backbone of the organization,” he said.
He said BJP govts had prioritised welfare of the poor, women’s empowerment, opportunities for youth, infrastructure growth, digital transformation and strengthening India’s global identity.
Earlier, Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi welcomed Nitin at Patna airport. Later, addressing the gathering, Saraogi stressed the importance of coordination between the organisation and the govt.
“The organization plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the govt’s public welfare schemes reach the last person in society, while party workers undertake the task of conveying the organization’s expectations and the public’s sentiments to the govt,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted Nitin on his birthday through a post on X, praising his leadership and organisational abilities. Chief minister Samrat Choudhary and several NDA leaders also extended birthday wishes to the BJP chief.
