Gyan Niketan teachers, Patna high court lawyer feted

) and Patna high court advocate T N Thakur received the ‘Karmyogi Award’ at a function organized by the school on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on Friday.


The programme began with lighting of the lamp by chief guest Jagdishwar Gobardhan, high commissioner of

Mauritius

to India and Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey, who was the guest of honour on the occasion. School principal J K Mukherjee welcomed the guests and gave them mementos.

Addressing the gathering, Govardhan said, “There is a great importance of our mother tongue. However, due to globalisation, we are gradually forgetting our languages which connect us with culture and ensure better cognitive development.”

Pandey said, “Our mother tongue is the basis of all languages. Bhojpuri is being taught in various universities and students today don’t hesitate to opt for this language,” he added.

School principal J K Mukherjee welcomed the guests.

Bishop Scott school: Students of ‘Intelligence House’ lifted the ‘championship trophy’ at an inter-house quiz competition organized at Bishop Scott Senior Secondary Girls’ School on Friday.

The competition was based on the theme ‘The Grey Chase’. Students of classes III to IX, who participated in the contest, were asked questions related to current affairs, sports, history and geography. Prizes were distributed by school principal Jyotsna Ranjan.

IIT-P: Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council-Delhi (BIRAC) will organize a start-up conclave in collaboration with the incubation centre of the Indian Institute of Technology-Patna (IIT-P) at Bihta on Saturday.

At least 14 entrepreneurs will address the participants during the conclave.

The event will enlighten the participants on ‘Ideation to venture creation and funding, transitioning from university to real world: Ideation to Venture creation, legal compliances for start-ups’ and also on how BIRAC is creating start-up culture.
