PATNA: Chief minister
Nitish Kumar on Friday inaugurated a new canteen, christened Alpahaar Grih, at legislative council.
Accompanied by the legislators and legislative council chairperson Devesh Chandra Thakur, Nitish visited the new canteen which looked like a restaurant with a mocktail counter. The area has been divided into two sections, one for the members of both assembly and council and another for the employees of both the Houses as well as the secretariat.
Thakur told TOI that good quality of food, especially fast food and mocktails, will be available at the canteen.
"However, there will be no subsidy at the new canteen. We are already running one canteen through the labour department in which subsidised food is available," he added.
Building construction department secretary Kumar Ravi said the new canteen has been made with an expenditure of around Rs 87 lakh.
