CM opens Valmiki auditorium for tourists
Patna/Bagaha: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday inaugurated the Valmiki Sabhagar (auditorium) and a cluster of four guesthouses for tourists and other visitors on Thursday.Valmikinagar, located on the bank of the Gandak river in West Champaran district, has gained recognition on the tourist map thanks to its cultural heritage, scenic beauty, forests, and wildlife attractions. Spread over 27 acres, the total built-up area of the campus is 16,872 square metres, which includes 7,457 square metres for the auditorium with a seating capacity and arrangement for 500 persons, and 8,588 square metres for the four guest rooms.After inaugurating the twin complexes, the CM praised the architectural designs of the buildings and emphasized the importance of proper maintenance of the campus. He also garlanded the statue of Maharshi Valmiki installed on the campus.“The tourist inflow at Valmikinagar has increased over the years. The new constructions have been made and the site developed with that in mind. Now, tourists will not face any staying problems,” the CM said. He also watched a short film made on the complex and the tourist site. Building construction department secretary Kumar Ravi presented the details and salient features of the newly developed complex. The CM presented certificates of appreciation to West Champaran DM Dinesh Kumar Rai, SDO Dr Anupama Singh, and departmental engineers.The CM was accompanied by WRD Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, building construction minister Jayant Raj, MP Sunil Kumar, as well as local MLAs and MLCs. Among the officials present were his principal secretary Deepak Kumar, development commissioner Chaitanya Prasad, West Champaran DM Dinesh Kumar Rai, Bagaha police district SP S K Saroj, and others.The Valmiki auditorium, equipped with audio-visual facilities and fitted with CCTV cameras, has a seating capacity for 500 persons and can be used for holding seminars, conferences, and meetings.The ground floor features a green room, a room for VVIPs, and a canteen with the capacity to accommodate 80 persons at a time. The first floor houses a multi-purpose hall with a 132-seating capacity, a meeting room for 22 persons, and lift facility.Since Valmikinagar has emerged as a “hot destination” for tourists, the complex includes four guest houses with one room for VVIP guests, 5 suites, 27 super deluxe rooms, 30 deluxe rooms, and 25 general rooms. Additionally, each guest house has a canteen and waiting room.Among other features, the campus has a rainwater storage facility for water recharging and solar panels installed to produce 210 kW of power. It features a sewage treatment plant and a water treatment plant, while fly ash bricks have been used as building materials, and all buildings are quake-proof.(With inputs from Tirthraj Kushwaha in Bagaha)
