Bihar: Only 331 questions answered in council

The Bihar legislative council was adjourned sine die on Wednesday after 20 working days of the budget session. Chairperson Devesh Chandra Thakur thanked all the members for their contribution in the functioning of the House and fulfilling their responsibilities.

PATNA: The Bihar legislative council was adjourned sine die on Wednesday after 20 working days of the budget session. Chairperson Devesh Chandra Thakur thanked all the members for their contribution in the functioning of the House and fulfilling their responsibilities.
In this budget session, Vidhan Parishad secretariat received the queries for total 1,349 questions, of which 1,195 were accepted and only 331 could be answered in the House.

The government has been asked to table the answers of the 721 pending questions in the next session. In this session, total 218 queries for call attention were made and 111 were approved to be raised in the House. Of these, 78 were answered by the government.
The legislators also used the online process for raising the questions through National e-Vidhan and 1,175 starred and 216 short-noticed questions were raised through this online medium. Four bills were tabled and passed by the members of the Upper House.
"Issues pertaining to the public were raised and a healthy debate was done. I thank all the members of this House," said Thakur, thanking the CM, deputy CM, leader of opposition and members cutting across the party lines.
