Bihar CM Nitish Kumar inaugurates school named after his wife
PATNA: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated a Project Girls’ higher secondary school in his hometown Bakhtiyarpur in Patna district. The school has been named after his spouse late Manju Sinha.
Addressing the inaugural event held at the fourth floor’s hall of the Manju Sinha Project Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Nitish said a girls’ high school was already operational in its premises for years.
“I had just asked officials to expand the school and run it in a better way. For the expansion plan, a part of land from the premises of Bakhtiyarpur police station was merged with the school campus and its buildings were made in a proper way,” Nitish said.
The CM also clarified that the school was named after his wife late Manju Sinha not by him, but former MLC and JD(U) leader Ramchandra Bharti.
“MLC Bharti is sitting here in the programme. It was he who got this school named after my wife. I was not aware of it. I found out later. If I had any idea, I would not have allowed naming the school after my wife,” Nitish told the audience.
The CM further asked the officials to construct a new building for the neighbouring Bakhtiyarpur police station. “I had been visiting the campus of this police station in my childhood,” Nitish, who was born and brought up in Bakhtiyarpur town, said.
Expressing happiness over enrolment of more than 2,000 girls in the school, the CM asked the teachers to ensure better education to their pupils.
Nitish further assured the audience that he would make recommendations for posting of an adequate number of teachers in the school.
He further asked the school management committee and teachers to ensure proper maintenance of the new buildings and cleanliness on the campus.
MLC Bharti, who is native of Bakhtiyarpur, also addressed the event.
The CM later inspected the campuses of the school and the neighbouring police station and asked the officials to ensure installation of sufficient number of solar plates on the school buildings so that the school could get its required electricity from the solar plates.

Likely story..."the school was named after his wife, not by HIM, but by late JD(U) MLC Ramchandra Bharti". If you believe that, then you'd also believe they're selling cheap tropical beach-front lots on the South Pole. LOLRead allPost comment
