NOIDA: A luxury Jaguar car caught fire while heading towards Agra on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Thursday, police said.
The fire broke out near the Zero Point area of the expressway, within the limits of the Ecotech 1 police station.
The Jaguar XJ 3.0L XJ50 was travelling from Gurgaon to Mathura when occupants noticed sparks coming from the vehicle. Moments later, smoke and flames engulfed the car.
Police and fire department personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread further.
"On receiving information, police and fire service teams immediately reached the spot. The fire brigage brought the blaze under control," an officer from the Ecotech 1 police station said.
All passengers were evacuated safely and no casualties were reported.
