Trio uses kin’s gun licence to work as armed guards, held
Ghaziabad: Three persons illegally working as armed security personnel at a meat processing factory in Masuri were arrested. DCP (rural) N Tiwari said the three suspects — Dawood Khan (27), Mukhtar Hussain (40), and Azad Khan (26) — are from J&K's Poonch and were allegedly using firearm licences of their family members to bag the jobs at Al Nasir Exports Pvt Ltd and International Agro Food Meat Factory at Ghaziabad's Bhudgarhi village. Cops seized a 0.32-bore revolver, two 12-bore guns and 23 live cartridges from the accused. The arms and ammunition were licenced under the name of three J&K residents. A case was registered under sections of the Arms Act at Masuri police station. The arrests come just days after four persons, also from Poonch, were arrested for allegedly running illegal security agencies and giving jobs as guards to people they usually brought in from J&K without any police verification. "These agencies — Asia Group Security, Moon Sign Safe Security Services, Aksha Security Services and Rajput Protection Pvt Ltd — had prepared fake documents and signed several people up as guards without verification of their character, residence and medical history. The firms would charge substantial fees from client companies for the services but pay minimal wages to the guards," the DCP said.Cops had arrested Sarafat Ali, Zafar Ali, Mohammed Safir and Mumtaz Hussain and cracked down on their illegal security firms after a team of Jammu & Kashmir Police visited Ghaziabad earlier this month and arrested a man from Pilkhuwa who was wanted in his hometown under the Public Safety Act (PSA). He was working as a guard in Pilkhuwa and had previously worked at a meat factory for more than a year through one of these security service providers, police said.
