Court notices ignored, madrasa encroaching govt land demolished in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad: The district administration demolished a madrasa that it said was running illegally in Masuri, amid a verification drive launched following the murder of a teenager in Khoda last week.
The demolition was conducted in Kallu Garhi village following an order issued by the tehsildar court.
Revenue department officials, along with police personnel, demolished structures associated with Madrasa Jamia Arabia Imatul Islam, which authorities claim had been built through encroachment on govt property. Officials said the action led to the recovery of nearly one hectare of public land valued at approximately Rs 20 crore to 25 crore.
According to district magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar, the tehsildar court had passed an order concerning five hectares of govt land. Of this, nearly one hectare was allegedly occupied by the madrasa, where seven rooms and several other structures had been constructed without authorisation. “Acting on the court’s order, the tehsildar Sadar and police teams carried out the demolition drive,” Mandar said.
Police also registered an FIR against Farrukh Beg, a Delhi resident, for allegedly running the institution despite official notices. The case was filed on the complaint of Lekhpal Anupam Mishra under sections 223 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant), 329(3) (criminal trespass), 329(4) (criminal and house trespass), and relevant sections of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.
In addition to the demolition, authorities issued a recovery notice of Rs 1.23 crore against Beg.
