NAVI MUMBAI:

Mumbai-Goa highway

remained closed throughout Saturday as incessant rainfall curtailed vehicular movement on Jagbudi river in Khed taluka, Ratnagiri. The highway is expected to reopen on Sunday morning.

The Jagbudi river has been flowing two metres above the danger mark. Besides, two successive landslides at an interval of four hours put traffic out of gear in Dhaman Devi village in Kashedi Ghat section of the highway.

Khed Tehsildar Shivaji Jadhav said, “Heavy motor vehicles will not be allowed till Sunday morning.” MA Gambre, highway safety patrol assistant inspector, Kashedi Ghat, said, “The landslide was removed using excavators.”
