NMIA to take off by September end

Navi Mumbai International Airport is likely to be inaugurated around September 30. Within a fortnight, it will begin operations with 60 daily flights, scaling up to 300 in six months.

2/6

Greenfield airport with seamless access

Strategically located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, NMIA promises unmatched multimodal connectivity through expressways, highways, metro lines, suburban trains, and even waterways, ensuring fast movement of both passengers and cargo.

3/6

Reaching NMIA in 40 minutes or less

The 22-km atal bihari vajpayee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, Sion-Panvel Expressway, Palm Beach Road, and National Highway 4B offer multiple fast road links connecting Thane, Pune, JNPT, and Mumbai.

4/6

Connecting NMIA by metro and train

Metro Lines 2 and 8 will link NMIA with Mumbai, while Navi Mumbai Metro Lines 1 and 2 will serve the eastern catchment. The CBD Belapur–Uran suburban railway line already supports staff and local passengers.

5/6

Waterways & 90 million dreams

A water terminal in Panvel Creek will connect coastal passengers and cargo via ferries. With all modes in sync, NMIA is poised to handle up to 90 million passengers annually, redefining air travel in India.

6/6

Mumbai's dual airport era

NMIA and Mumbai's CSMIA may be treated as a single airport entity for charges. Demolition of CSMIA's T1 is expected by 2029-30, with a new terminal ready by 2032. Construction of NMIA’s T2 will begin 6–12 months after operations commence. (Image Credit: Adani Group)
