72-year-old abducted; 3 men booked

Navi Mumbai: A 72-year-old businessman from Mangaon, Raigad district, who was believed to be missing and a complaint was also lodged by his kin at the local police station on May 31 returned home recently and registered an FIR alleging that he was abducted by Vijay Bhoir and his two unidentified aides, over a previous enmity. He has alleged that the abductors drove him to Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri, where they confined him for three days in a dark room resembling a mess, where they tortured him before robbing Rs 4.20 lakh from him. The victim alleged that Bhoir forcibly made him sign on some paper, he stated in the FIR. Rajendra Patil, police inspector of Mangaon said, “As per the complaint lodged by the senior citizen, we have booked the key accused.” TNN
