Nana Patole, president of the Nashik state Congress, said that internal disputes within the Tambe family led to Dr. Sudhir Tambe not contesting the Nashik graduates' constituency polls. Patole said that the party had renominated its sitting MLA from the constituency, Dr. Sudhir Tambe, to contest the polls. Patole said that his feedback is that Satyajeet Tambe pressured his father to opt out of the election, and that Satyajeet filed his nomination as an independent since he did not get the ticket from the Congress. Patole also said that the Congress had no role in the internal problem of the Tambe family. Tambe has been suspended pending an enquiry, and the party has also suspended Satyajeet the former state youth Congress president for six years. Patole alleged that the BJP had pulled the strings to ensure Satyajeet remained in fray instead of his father.
