Nashik city records season’s highest maximum at 36.6°C

Nashik: The city recorded the hottest day of the season on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature rising to 36°C, up from Tuesday's maximum of 35.2°C.According to the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), the minimum temperature also went up to 16°C on Wednesday, compared to 14°C recorded on Feb 28. On the same day last year, the city had registered a maximum temperature of 35°C, while the minimum temperature was 17.3°C.The sudden increase in daytime temperatures over the past two to three days has pushed residents to buy caps, sunscreens, and other sun-protective accessories to cope with the heat.IMD officials said Nashik's maximum temperature is likely to hover around the same level for the next two to three days, before rising further by one or two degrees.In Jalgaon district, the mercury climbed to 38°C on Wednesday, the highest maximum temperature of the season there. On Tuesday, the district had recorded 37.2°C.Malegaon city in Nashik district also witnessed a sharp rise in temperatures. The maximum temperature increased from 35.5°C on Tuesday to 36.8°C on Wednesday. The minimum temperature rose from 15.2°C to 16.8°C over the same period.Niphad, the major grape-growing belt of Nashik district, recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3°C on Wednesday, up from 35.8°C on Tuesday.
