Man shoots married lover, then kills himself in Jalgaon’s Chopda

Nashik: A 35-year-old man from Shirpur in Dhule allegedly shot his 30-year-old married lover from Chopda taluka in Jalgaon, on Saturday morning, and then killed himself with the same firearm, the police said.The incident came to light around 10.30am when the deceased woman's daughter, a Class VIII student, returned home and found the two bodies lying in a pool of blood.On the complaint of the deceased woman's husband, the Chopda city police registered a case of murder under relevant sections of the BNS against the dead man.Inspector Madhukar Salve said, "During the investigation, we found out that the two of them were in a relationship for nearly two years after getting acquainted with each other on a social media website. However, owing to the woman's family responsibilities, she had not been able to give enough time to the accused man."The police said this is also evident from the online chats between the accused man and the woman. Salve said that on Saturday, sometime before 10.30am, the man arrived on a bike at the woman's residence when she was alone at home while her husband was away on their agricultural land, and her two children were at school.A quarrel may have broken out between the two, after which the man allegedly shot the woman dead with a country-made firearm and then ended his life with the same weapon, the police said.Inspector Salve said the police are investigating the case from all angles.
