Nashik: The civic body is planning to introduce "construction TDR (Transfer of Development Rights)" to acquire land reserved for roads in the development plan approved by state govt in 2017.
The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) will soon issue standard operating procedures (SOPs) for construction TDR to facilitate and expedite the acquisition of land reserved for various DP roads across the city.
"Acquiring land through the TDR will be a win-win for both landowners and the municipal corporation. The NMC will get land without financial outflow, while landowners will be able to sell the TDR to developers for construction projects," a civic official said.
During a recent meeting of the NMC's standing committee, municipal commissioner Manisha Khatri had said the move would help streamline the acquisition of land reserved for roads in the DP. "We will soon introduce the SOPs for construction TDR to speed up land acquisition for DP roads in the city. I also urge the panel members and corporators to convince landowners to hand over their land to the municipal corporation in exchange for TDR," Khatri said.
