Nashik: Manisha Jejurkar, a 40-year-old Ayurveda practitioner, was found hanging at her residence in D K Nagar, Gangapur Road, on Friday morning. The body was found by her husband, Nilesh Jejurkar, who is a psychiatrist at the Nashik Civil Hospital, and their two children at 11.30am.
Inspector Kishore Pagar, the investigation officer, said, "Nilesh Jejurkar and his neighbour, also a doctor, had gone to their children's school to pick them up. On returning home, Jejurkar and his two children found the woman hanging from the rod of the main bedroom window. Jejurkar called his doctor neighbour, who checked Manisha and declared her dead."
The Gangapur police have registered a case of accidental death.
No note has, so far, been found with the deceased woman.
The police said it is yet to be ascertained why the woman took the extreme step. "There could have been a dispute between the couple, which could have led the woman to take the desperate staep. Nonetheless, the investigation is on," inspector Pagar added.
