3 women arrested for murder of 26-year-old man in Nashik
Nashik: The Panchavati police have arrested three women for the alleged murder of a 26-year-old man, Amol Dandge, who was throttled to death in Navnathnagar, along Peth Road, on the night between Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, a city court remanded the accused in six-day police custody.
An FIR has been registered under BNS section 103(1) (murder) following a complaint by the victim’s elder brother, Sandeep Dandge.
According to the complaint, Amol, who worked at a recovery office, had been in an illicit relationship with a 32-year-old woman for the past three months, leading to frequent disputes at home. Around a fortnight ago, he moved out of his parents’ house to a rented room in Navnathnagar.
Around 3 am on Tuesday, Sandeep received a call from Amol’s phone. A woman informed him that Amol had fallen unconscious and had been taken to Nashik Civil Hospital, urging the family to come immediately. As per the complaint, when they reached the hospital, Amol was found lying motionless on a stretcher. Doctors declared him brought dead, while two women present at the hospital handed over his phone and fled.
The postmortem later confirmed that Amol died due to throttling.
In his statement, Sandeep alleged that the main suspect had been in Amol’s room since 9.30pm on Monday and, along with another woman, brought him to the hospital after killing him. He also said the two had been arguing for the past two days.
Inspector Nitin Andhale, the investigating officer, said, “During the course of the investigation, we found the involvement of three women in Amol’s murder.”
Senior inspector Gajendra Patil said further investigation is underway to establish the motive and sequence of events.
