From corporators to CMs, all dissatisfied in politics: Gadkari
Nagpur: Union minister Nitin Gadkari, speaking at a book launch event on Sunday, shared his perspective on the pursuit of satisfaction in the realm of politics. Describing it as an "ocean of unsatisfied souls," he explained how individuals, from corporators to chief ministers, often find themselves grappling with dissatisfaction despite their accomplishments."Corporators are unhappy because they didn't become MLAs. MLAs are dissatisfied for not being included in the cabinet. Ministers feel unfulfilled if they don't get key departments, and chief ministers always live in anxiety," he said during the launch of ‘50 Golden Rules of Life: Timeless Strategies for Success, Fulfilment, and Inner Peace', a book written by Santosh Joshi. The minister reflected on the human tendency toward ego and arrogance. "Instead of fostering positive qualities, we often nurture the evils within us," he said. Highlighting the role of values and principles, he said, "Two equally qualified CEOs can lead the same company to starkly different outcomes — one to success and the other to failure. It all depends on the values and qualities they bring to the table," he said, adding that people who are overconfident and believe they know everything often face setbacks, as they tend to ignore opportunities for learning when they arise.Recounting an incident when Bill Gates visited his residence in Delhi, an experience that also provided valuable life lessons, the Nagpur MP shared, "Kanchan asked me what to prepare for breakfast, suggesting something American. But I said, prepare Dahi Misal, and we'll see afterwards. To our surprise, Bill Gates's wife enjoyed the spicy gravy. Afterward, Gates remarked, ‘When we try new things, only then do we learn about them. We should not be biased before trying something new.' These small moments reflect the values and experiences that shape our lives."Former state information commissioner Rahul Pande as the guest of honour. Pande, who has reviewed the book, described it as a treasure trove of timeless wisdom, guiding readers through a transition from turbulence to tranquillity. "In these challenging times, this book is much needed. As Santosh rightly says, ‘Pick it up, open any page, and you'll find something valuable to learn," Pande said, adding that such values are deeply embedded in leaders like Nitin Gadkari in their day-to-day lives.Author Joshi, who is also a life coach and therapist, unveiled his fourth book, reflecting on how everyday moments shape our life's journey. He shared personal stories, including his mother's battle with Alzheimer's, revealing how even in the toughest times, he learned invaluable lessons of empathy, patience, gratitude, and love.‘Granth Dindi' sets the toneAdding a unique and vibrant touch before the book launch event, a procession called ‘Granth Dindi' was organized. Children dressed in traditional sarees and kurtas led the procession, carrying veenas and cymbals, with a palki on their shoulders. Inside the palki, the books to be unveiled by the guests were carefully wrapped in a cloth. Young boys and girls danced to the rhythmic beats of pakhwaj and tabla, creating a festive and cultural ambience.
