Ngp-Chanda eway receives land boostwith HUDCO loan

Nagpur: Maharashtra govt has taken a step towards implementing the 21,702-crore Nagpur-Chandrapur Access-Controlled Expressway by approving a loan from HUDCO for land acquisition and granting approval to draft govt guarantee deed required for the borrowing.The decision was taken following deliberations by cabinet committee on infra and is expected to accelerate acquisition process. The state also directed finance department to issue a separate GR for a sovereign guarantee for the loan to be raised from Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO). The 204.799-km-long expressway was approved for implementation through Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation on Feb 20, 2026. The project will run from Seldoh in Wardha to Navegaon More in Chandrapur and will create a high-speed, access-controlled road link between the two regions.Administrative approval has already been granted for land acquisition expenditure of 2,353.94 crore. This includes 1,493.31 crore towards principal and estimated 860.63 crore towards interest. Govt has now approved raising these funds via HUDCO, enabling land acquisition process to move forward. The expressway will be developed as a four-lane corridor and will feature seven interchanges along its route. A total of 2,159.087 hectares of land will be required for the project.
