Narrowing scoring options was part of plan: Wadkar

We were expecting them to come up with one or two good partnerships. So, our focus was not to let partnerships develop. We wanted to give as few boundary balls as possible and force them to score through singles and doubles. The wicket had uneven bounce, some balls were keeping low. Our plan was to narrow down the scoring options and keep the fielders in catching positions," skipper Akshay Wadkar said after Vidabrha's win.Outplayed by Vidabrha, rival skipper Ajinkya Rahane praised the rivals for performing consistently. "Rather than we falling short, I think the Vidarbha team played well. Right from Day 1 they showed good discipline. Vidarbha played better cricket. They played really well," Rahane added when asked about the game-changing moment of the semifinal clash. Harsh Dubey with his five-wicket haul in Mumbai's second innings was instrumental in Vidarbha's triumph. "Left-arm spinners naturally bowl a tight line. Dubey can consistently land the ball in the same area for five-six overs on the trot. This leads to pressure on batters, and they tend to take chances.
