Melodious songs of Rafi, Mukesh entertain people

Nagpur: ‘Melodious Mukesh and Rafi’, a programme of music organized by Kanak Sur Mandir, entertained the people as they got a rare opportunity to listen to distinct styles of these two legends at Sai Sabhagruh, on Sunday.

Distinct styles of Mukesh and Rafi were picked by the singers as hit songs of these legend were sung alternately.

Twenty beautiful songs were presented by 10 singers at the programme conceptualized by Datta Harkare.

The first song, ‘Aaja tujhko pukare mera pyar’, was sung by Suryakant Ambadekar, followed by ‘Kai sadiyon se’ by Praveen Kulkarni. ‘Lakhon hain nigah mein’ and ‘Aa laut ke aaja mere meet’ was presented by Abhijeet Vaidya.

‘Haan deewana hoon main’ by Avinash Shravane and ‘Kaun hai jo sapno mein aaya’ by Prashant Chaudhari were enjoyed by the audience. ‘Sajan re jhoot mat bolo’ was sung by Sushmoy Chatterjee.

‘Aise toh na dekho’ by Kishor Dakhale, ‘Mai toh har mod par’ by Chandrashekhar Desai, ‘Ae husn zara jag’ by Ajay Vaidya, ‘Pukarta chala hoon main’ by Nilay Bannore kept the audience engaged.

Ambadekar performed one more beautiful song, ‘Chand si mehbooba’, followed by ‘Rang aur noor ki baraat’ by Kulkarni. Sushmoy Chatterjee’s ‘Hum tumse juda hoke’ was followed by ‘Chandan sa badan’ by Prashant Chaudhari.

Shravane also presented ‘Jhoomti chali hawa’. ‘Main toh ek khwaab hoon’ was presented by Ajay Vaidya, followed by ‘Meri mohobbat javan rahegi’ by Ambadekar. ‘Gardish mein hon tare’ was performed by Desai.

The programme concluded with a nice rendition of ‘Duniya bananewale’ by Kishor Dakhale.
