‘Dakshin Bharat Shubh Yatra’ to roll out from Bilaspur

Nagpur: Offering a tourist package inclusive of food, travel and accommodation, IRCTC Railways is launching themed tourist trains from different parts of the country under ‘Op Bharat Gaurav’ for the first time after the Covid pandemic. The ‘South India Shubh Yatra’ is scheduled to leave Bilaspur on May 25, making stops at Gondia, Bhandara, and Nagpur among others. In this tour of seven nights/eight days, passengers will visit South India’s finest places like Rameshwaram, Madurai, Tirupati, Srisailam’s Mallikarjuna temple and many more.The subsidized fare, Rs 15,500 per passenger for the non-AC Sleeper class, includes three meals per day, a security guard and guide for every coach, road transport and sightseeing in quality buses, travel insurance, and a 24/7 on-board staff along with medical personnel.Tanweer Hassan, group general manager, tourism, New Delhi, said, “The journey will be calm and peaceful for passengers as they will not have to worry about the logistics.” The modern kitchen on the tourist-dedicated train will provide fresh and high-quality vegetarian food throughout the journey. Kranti Sawarkar, joint general manager of tourism, Bhubaneshwar, highlighted destinations like the Meenakshi Temple of Madurai.Joint general manager, tourism, South Central Zone, Kishore Satya spoke about promoting the tourism concepts of “Dekho Apna Desh” and “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”.
