NAGPUR: Company secretaries are like an hourglass of a company for which they should be well-informed and have thorough knowledge of corporate governance, said Suresh Rathi, president of Vidarbha Industries Association (VED).
He was delivering the keynote address at a daylong master class on National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) organized by the Nagpur chapter of
Western India Regional Council
of Company Secretaries of India.
Rathi said it is the duty of CS to keep a tab on the working of companies and plead the case effectively if the matter reaches NCLT.
Shantanu Jog, chairman, Nagpur chapter, elaborated on aspects of drafting, training, management and improvement of advocacy skills. Tushar Pahade, regional council member of WIRC, also spoke.
Various sessions were held under the guidance of Mahesh Athawale,
Vivek Naidu and RT Rajguru.
Khushaboo Pasari, secretary, proposed a vote of thanks.
Those present were Deepti Joshi, Rohit Jain, Aalhad Mahabel and Rashmi Mitkary.
