2-day national meet to discuss education for Viksit Maharashtra

Nagpur: A two-day national conference titled ‘Education for Viksit Maharashtra' on April 4 and 5 will bring together academicians, policymakers and industry leaders to deliberate on the future of education under the framework of the National Education Policy 2020.Organised under the banner of Maharashtra Gyan Sabha, the conference will be inaugurated by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis at the auditorium of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT). The valedictory function will be graced by Union minister Nitin Gadkari.The event is an initiative of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, and is being jointly organised by leading institutions including Nagpur University, Gondwana University, VNIT and Indian Institute of Management-Nagpur.Aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the conference seeks to explore how education can contribute to building a progressive, knowledge-driven Maharashtra. It aims to create a platform for dialogue between academia and industry, focusing on skill development, innovation and integration of indigenous knowledge systems.Dignitaries including revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, education minister Chandrakant Patil, minsiter of state Pankaj Bhoyar, along with senior officials and industry representatives will be present at the inaugural session. The session will be presided over by Atul Kothari.The valedictory session will see the presence of Ashish Jaiswal, Nagpur mayor Neeta Thakre, industry leaders and noted personalities including Satyanarayan Nuwal.Key themes for discussion will include aligning education with industry needs, promoting skill-based learning, integrating the Indian knowledge system and ensuring holistic development of students. Experts will also share best practices and innovative models being implemented across higher education institutions.The organisers have invited stakeholders from both academia and industry to participate in the deliberations.
