Thousands take part in car festival at Sri Mahabaleshwara Swamy Temple

Mysuru: The annual car festival of Sri Mahabaleshwara Swamy Temple atop the Chamundi Hills was held on Thursday. Thousands of devotees joined the celebrations and pulled the chariot.The car festival took place between 7.10am and 7.35am. Prior to the procession, special pujas and various rituals were conducted at the Mahabaleshwara temple. Later, the Utsava Murthy was placed in the chariot and pulled.The palace band and police band joined the procession as per tradition. The procession concluded in front of the temple. Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the procession.Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar visited both Chamundeshwaru Temple and the Mahabaleshwara Temple and took darshan early in the morning.
