THINK gas to connect 10k more households in Mysuru in next 6 months

Mysuru: Brajesh Kumar Singh, zonal head, THINK Gas, Karnataka, on Wednesday said that the company plans to connect 10,000 more households in the next six months across the city.Speaking to reporters, he pointed at the govt's recent mandate urging citizens to transition to piped natural gas (PNG) in the next three months. In addition to the ongoing initiatives under the PNGRB drive in the region, the company also plans to roll out a series of activities to drive awareness and accelerate adoption across Mysuru."With pipeline infrastructure already established in several parts of the city, the company is also rapidly expanding its network to enhance connectivity and reach more households over the next six months, enabling residents to have a continuous and cost-effective fuel solution," he explained.Sanjit Suman, regional head, said PNG connections are currently available in Hebbal, Hootagalli, Ramakrishna Nagar, Kuvempu Nagar, Vijayanagar and Dattagalli in Mysuru city, besides Kadakola on the outskirts of the city and Nanjangud. Residents in these areas can opt for a connection with minimal installation requirements, making the switch simple and hassle-free.He also said that commercial establishments, like hotels, are coming forward to switch to PNG in the city. "We had one meeting with the hotel association also. Over 120 hoteliers were invited. So, they are all interested," he said."Now, we are penetrating towards the core areas of the city. All the issues are resolved," he said."Compared to traditional LPG, PNG is 10% to 15% cheaper in terms of cost-effectiveness. Apart from that, another big benefit is convenience of use. Like electricity and water, you are getting it through a tap or a switch," he said."We are targeting to cover the entire city within four to five years," he said."In the past four years, we have given 43,000 registrations for PNG connections, out of which approximately 5,000 customers are receiving gas," he said.
