Recycled notebooks distributed to Mysuru students
Mysuru: Recycled notebooks made from unused pages of partially used notebooks were distributed to students of various city schools Wednesday during a programme jointly organised by the department of public libraries, the City Central Library at People’s Park and Balya Foundation.
The initiative, launched a few weeks ago, aims to collect unused notebook pages and convert them into new notebooks for underprivileged students. Organisers said unused pages from one student’s notebook could become a valuable educational resource for another child.
Recycled notebooks were distributed to students of CSI Victoria School, Gadichowk Higher Primary School and Mahajana High School. Students also contributed by donating unused pages from their own notebooks for future recycling efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, regional commissioner and City Library Authority chairman Nitesh Patil said reusing blank notebook pages would contribute to environmental conservation by reducing the need for paper. He described the campaign as an eco-friendly initiative and urged children to donate unused pages to support other students’ education.
City Central Library deputy director B Manjunath and other dignitaries were present.
