Probe into Madikeri jail murder intensifies

Madikeri: The investigation into the case of a prisoner being stabbed to death recently in the district jail on the outskirts of Madikeri has intensified. ADGP (prisons) Alok Kumar and IGP (prisons) Divyashri visited the jail and collected information on Friday. They inspected the place where the incident took place in the jail, reviewed the CCTV footage and gathered information from jail officials.

They also collected information from the Kodagu district police, which has registered a case.

The ADGP instructed the officials that prisoners who commit hooliganism should be kept in separate cells, and arrangements should be made to provide yoga, meditation and education to the prisoners in the jail who are deprived of education.
