Power transfer decision rests with Cong high command: Minister

Mysuru: Amid ongoing speculation over a possible power transfer in the state govt, Karnataka minister N Cheluvarayaswamy on Friday clarified that any such decision rests entirely with the party's central leadership, and not on individual opinions or public discourse.Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, the minister refrained from expressing a personal view on the issue, stating that any comment could be misinterpreted or sensationalised. "Even before I leave the venue, my words may be twisted. Hence, there is no point in offering personal opinions on such sensitive matters," he remarked.Cheluvarayaswamy emphasised that individual statements hold no significance when it comes to leadership decisions. He made it clear that any move regarding a change in leadership or a cabinet reshuffle would only take place after consultations between the chief minister, the deputy chief minister and the All India Congress Committee president.Dismissing ongoing public and political commentary, he termed such discussions as unnecessary and unproductive. "If the AICC president calls for a meeting, senior leaders will attend and abide by the directions given. Until then, speculation serves no purpose," he added. Reassuring party workers and the public, he asserted that there is complete coordination between the chief minister and deputy chief minister. He said both leaders are functioning in harmony and are collectively steering the administration forward.While acknowledging that a few individuals within the party may be making statements, Cheluvarayaswamy reiterated that both top leaders have already expressed their commitment to adhere to any decision taken by the high command.
