Mysuru division records highest ever passenger revenue in 2025 26

Mysuru: The South Western Railway's Mysuru division recorded its highest-ever passenger revenue of Rs 449.1 crore in the financial year 2025–26, surpassing the earlier record of Rs 419.8 crore."We registered a growth of 1.4% last fiscal," said Mudit Mittal, divisional railway manager, Mysuru division, while presenting the division's annual performance highlights.Mittal said the division delivered strong results across revenue generation, freight operations, infrastructure development, energy efficiency, safety and passenger services. The division speeded up 71 trains, raising operating speeds to about 110 kmph on several routes, except in ghat sections due to geographical constraints, he explained. About 44 trains were converted from diesel to electric traction.Security efforts led to the recovery of passenger belongings worth Rs 1.1 crore and the rescue of 132 children. Passenger traffic touched 34.6 million, a 5% increase over the previous year, while 391 special trains were operated.Mittal said modernisation of the Mysuru railway yard is under way and expected to be completed within two years.
