London law graduate weds in eco-friendly village ceremony

Mysuru: A law graduate from London entered wedlock on Monday at her village of Chinchalli in Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar district. The wedding was conducted in an environmentally responsible and creative manner, demonstrating the family's dedication to environmental preservation and village customs.Rashmi Dayanand, the daughter of progressive farmer P Dayanand, married Kuber K at their family's farm located in Chinchalli village, Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar. The wedding celebration distinguished itself through its environmentally responsible and creative approach, showcasing the family's commitment to environmental preservation and village traditions. After completing her law studies in London, Rashmi returned to her village to establish an essential oils production facility, combining her business acumen with her agricultural roots.The wedding venue featured a distinctive design, with the mantap constructed using only coconut leaves and palm trees, positioned beneath a jackfruit tree in an outdoor setting. The organisers exclusively utilised local materials for the arrangements, prioritising environmental conservation and community resources. This strategy demonstrated the family's environmental commitment while reducing traditional wedding expenses, said Dayanand.Dayanand, previously employed with BBMP, relocated to Chinchalli 14 years ago to take up agriculture and launched the Kisan Agro Tourism development programme, motivating local farmers to consider agro-tourism as a viable income alternative. The wedding celebrations included guided farm tours for guests, highlighting the rural agricultural setup and value-added units."Today, a huge sum is wasted in the name of organising marriages. It is draining the farmers' resources in the villages. This is a model for the farmers on saving the marriage expenses without compromising the grandeur," he said.
