Bhoo Suraksha scheme: Mysuru district ranks third in state in digitising records

Mysuru: Mysuru district has registered remarkable progress under the state govt's ambitious Bhoo Suraksha scheme, which aims to digitise land records. The district ranked third in the state in its implementation.Except Nanjangud and Hunsur taluks, the revenue department has targeted to complete the digitisation of land records in the remaining seven taluks of Mysuru district within the next six months. It has already started issuing online land records.Under the project, revenue department officials of the district have taken up the process of digitising land records documents of A and B khata properties available at records rooms of all the offices of tahsildar, sub-registrar, survey settlement, office of additional deputy commissioner and deputy commissioner, and other revenue deputy offices of the district.The revenue department has taken up the task of digitising the land records of 12 lakh files and 6.4 crore pages of documents stored in record rooms of these offices under the project in the district after categorising them as A, B, C and D section records and documents. Of the targeted 6.4 crore pages of documents digitisation process, the revenue department officials have scanned land records and documents of 3.6 crore pages, uploaded and digitally stored them in the designated Bhoo Suraksha portal so far in the district. The digitisation of the remaining 2.7 crore pages of land records documents of the district is in process.Taluk-wise progress—Mysuru taluk district has registered progress of 93% in digitisation of land record documents, followed by KR Nagar 92%, HD Kote 90%, T Narasipura 89%, Periyapatna 88%, Saragur 87%, and Saligrama 90%.Except Hunsur and Nanjangud, the revenue department officials have targeted 100% digitisation of land records in all the taluks of Mysuru district within the next six months.Directions were also given to revenue department officials to digitally preserve A section land records documents permanently, B section land documents for 30 years, C section documents for 10 years and D section documents for 5 years.As the revenue department also started the distribution of land records documents online, so far it distributed 1.64 lakh pages of land records documents to its applicants in taluk offices of the district. Additional deputy commissioner of Mysuru P Shivaraju, who is monitoring the project, said he gave directions to all revenue department officers involved in the process to complete digitising of land records within the next 8 months in the district.
