Mysuru: To create awareness among farmers on the latest technological inventions in agro industries, Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) will conduct a three-day mega fair ‘Agro Tech Expo-2016' from April 22.
As part of the fair, Association president V K Dikshit has conducted a ground-breaking ceremony at Maharaja's Grounds. The exhibition will attract companies in agriculture, food-processing sectors and related industries that constitute the supply chain in the agriculture sector. Over 250 companies from different places will participate in the expo.
The fair will be inaugurated by chief minister Siddaramaiah in the presence of minister of state Giriraj Singh, state ministers and senior officials of the state and central governments. During the event, seminars and workshops on different aspects of agriculture, agro food industry and relevant sectors will be held.
Dikshit said that the fair is aimed at showcasing the developments in the field of agriculture and agro industries to farmers. "Agriculture plays a big role in shaping the economy of the country. It accounts for the livelihood of 50% of the country's population and around 13% of GDP," he added.
