MUMBAI: A woman constable attached to the Thane Police Commissioner's Office fell off a local train and died at Nahur on Tuesday.

Ashwini Domade , 27, slipped from a Up slow local after losing her balance around 2 pm. She was hit by an unknown Down fast local after she landed on the tracks and was grievously injured.

She was being rushed to the Agrawal Hospital in an ambulance when her husband insisted that she be taken to the Fortis Hospital instead. She was pronounced dead at Fortis Hospital at 2.10 pm.
Domade had completed her training and joined duty only a month ago. Police said she had been married for the past three years.

An accidental death case was recorded by the GRP. Her body will be handed over to her husband, Rajendra Palve, after an autopsy.

Domade and Palve had been travelling together on the train. They were going for an outing as it was her weekly off.
