Water in 10 Bandra bldgs contaminated

Mumbai: For the past 10 days, residents of D'Monte Park Road in Bandra (West) have been complaining of contaminated water. "We had sent samples of the water for testing, and it was found to be unfit for consumption. I found worms in my water filter," said Brian Fernandes, a D'Monte Park Road resident.Around 10 buildings are affected. BMC carried out a camera probe of the water line. "A BMC health team visited the affected buildings and distributed medical supplies," said Trevor Fernandes, another resident of D'Monte Park Road. "We have identified a contamination point and plugged it. We will collect water samples for testing. If the results are positive, we will stop further inspection. We have already put forth a proposal to replace water mains on D'Monte Park Road," said a BMC official. tnn
