Ulhasnagar double murder case: Thane police arrest four more taking the total arrests to eight

Ulhasnagar: On May 26, Thane police arrested four more accused in connection with last week’s double murder in Ulhasnagar’s Camp No. 5 area, taking the total number of arrests to eight, officials said. The four, Badruddin Khan, Aman Manohar Chauhan, Kalpesh Sunil Mhatre and Pranay Sachin Nikam were produced before a local court, which remanded them to police custody

The incident took place in Kailash Colony Chowk, where unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire following an old dispute, leading to the death of two brothers, Anil Harkesh Chauhan and Aman Harkesh Chauhan. Another relative, Arjun Surajbali Chauhan, sustained serious injuries in the attack and is undergoing treatment.

The broad daylight killings created panic in the area and triggered tension among residents.

Initially, police arrested three accused, Shekhar Birajdar, Aziz Sheikh, and Ajay Rao, in connection with the case. Later, based on allegations made by family members of the deceased, police also arrested Sagar Patil for his alleged involvement. Police said they are probing whether any other accused are involved in the killing.
