MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Sunday launched a teaser for its annual Dussehra rally which will be held on Tuesday at Dadar’s Shivaji Park.
In the teaser, the Sena (UBT) has taken a dig at the Shiv Sena-led by CM Ekanth Shinde referring to his Sena as ‘traitor’.
"Men are not sold, men are not traitors” is the tagline for the rally.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut described the Shinde-led Sena’s Dussehra rally which will be held at South Mumbai’s Azad Maidan as ‘Chinese material’.
"Some are fugitives.. those who sit with their tails in.. those who sell faith for selfishness.. those who join hands with enemies.. those who spit on the dishes in which they eat.. those who are sold off to boxes.. those who treacherously break into houses in the dark of night.. but men are sold .... men do not betray.. One place for men… Shivtirth Dadar.. One leader, one thought and one ground.. Dussehra rally.. gathering of men..,” the teaser states.
Last week, CM Shinde had announced that his party will hold its Dussehra rally at South Mumbai’s Azad Maidan this year.
At a meeting earlier this week, CM Shinde told Sena functionaries that from next year onwards, there would be no need for his Sena to apply for permission to hold their Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in Dadar, adding that as the CM, he didn't want to create any controversy over the ground this year, which could lead to a law and order situation.
There has been a clash between two Sena factions led by Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray over holding the Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park.
While the Bombay high court allowed Uddhav-led Sena to hold the rally at Shivaji Park last year after both factions' applications were rejected by the BMC, this year the Shinde faction withdrew their application months after submission to avoid another spat with the Sena (UBT) over the venue.
Dussehra will be celebrated on October 24.
