UV sanitisation kiosk installed at Mumbai Central

To enhance safety of passengers, DRM of Western Railway has started a kiosk with facility to sanitise and wrap passenger's luggage at Mumbai Central station. The service will start at Bandra Terminus and Surat Railway station shortly. The sanitisation will be done by passing luggage through the UV rays tunnel. UV rays sanitisation kills the pathogen residing on the surface of the luggage which limits the chance of spread of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases. It is a dry and quick method, which is more convenient than traditional spraying method. As an inaugural offer, rates for sanitisation will be Rs. 10 for each baggage while sanitisation and wrapping both will cost Rs.50. Photo Courtesy: Western Railways
