Sharad Pawar gets 2nd dose

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday took the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. After his vaccination, he took to Twitter thanking the medical team for their service. He also urged everyone to take vaccines. "I took the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination this morning. Tope claims vaccine shortage

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Wednesday said that several vaccination centres across the state are experiencing a shortage of coronavirus vaccines. He added that beneficiaries are being asked to go back due to the shortage. "People have to be sent back due to shortage of doses. The speed at which the Centre is supplying vaccine doses needs to increase," he said.

New SOPs for societies

Amid an upsurge in the number of coronavirus cases in the city, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued fresh Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for housing societies in Mumbai. As per the new guidelines, each and every person in the society premises must wear masks while stepping outside the confines of their homes. The civic body also said that outsiders such as domestic help, newspaper and milk vendors, delivery persons and others should not be given direct access to the society premises. "Ensure that temperature check, oxygen test, hand washing/sanitising facilities, etc are available for outsiders, helpers, drivers, garbage collectors and cleaners," the notification read.
