The MNS on Friday sacked its deputy zonal head for Mumbadevi Vinod Argile for slapping a 57-year-old woman on August 28 after she objected to erecting a bamboo in front of her store to put up a party banner. A video of the incident went viral.

MUMBAI: The MNS on Friday sacked its deputy zonal head for Mumbadevi Vinod Argile for slapping a 57-year-old woman on August 28 after she objected to erecting a bamboo in front of her store to put up a party banner. A video of the incident went viral. MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar, who issued the sacking order, said: "We were disturbed after the video came to our notice." Slamming MNS, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray said: "The way the woman was beaten was dirty...It is not right for anyone to do this, be it an office-bearer or worker of any party. Strict action should be taken against the culprits...and the action should be visible to the public."
