Mumbai: A 34-year-old autorickshaw driver lost his life after his vehicle crashed into the divider on the Western Express Highway at Dahisar East on Thursday night. Police said the driver, Swapnil Khade, could not control his vehicle, as per CCTV grabs and a video shot by an onlooker.
The incident occurred around 8 pm near Dahisar metro station. The auto was moving from the service road at Ghartanpada no. 2 towards a flyover on WEH’s south bound arm. Khade’s vehicle rammed into a cement divider and he suffered serious injuries.
An onlooker informed the Dahisar Police, following which a mobile van was rushed to the spot and Khade was rushed to the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital at Kandivali. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
