Mumbai: Arrest channel editor for hate speech, says Bandra MLA

MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui has filed a complaint at the

Nirmal Nagar

police station and sought an FIR under Section 153 A (promoting enmity among groups) of the IPC against a

news channel

. He demanded the arrest of Suresh Chavhanke, the chief editor of the channel, for airing “communal and derogatory” content.

A police officer said that since an FIR was already lodged in Nashik, Siddiqui’s complaint was sent there.

The complaint said that in the promotional video for its show Bindas Bol, Chavhanke made derogatory remarks against members of a community who qualify for the civil services. He made communal remarks against the
