Protesters are targetting public properties, setting tires on fire on state and national highways, and have been blocking roads in various parts of the Maharashtra.

Orders imposing restrictions on the assembly of five or more people, agitation, or protests have aslo been issued in Nanded, Beed, and Dharashiv districts of the state.

In the wake of the agitation, internet services in Jalna and Beed have been suspended until November 2. The Marathwada districts are facing violent protest by the Maratha activists.

The issuance of Kunbi certificates, associated with the OBC category in Maharashtra and providing reservation benefits in education and government jobs, has commenced.

Kunbi caste certificates to Marathas

The Maharashtra government accepted the first report of a committee headed by retired high court judge Sandeep Shinde. The committee was appointed to determine the procedure for granting Kunbi caste certificates to Marathas in the Marathwada region.

Jarange should cooperate with govt in ensuring quota for Maratha community, said CM Shinde adding that the state govt was in favour of Maratha quota.

Minister's vehicle targetted

The agitating Maratha activists on Wedneday vandalised state cabinet minister Hasan Mushrif's vehicle in Mumbai. Mushrif belongs to NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar.

Manoj Jarange rejects Kunbi certificate proposal

Activist Manoj Jarange, who had been on an indefinite fast for Maratha quota demands, rejected the government's decision and insisted that Kunbi certificates should not be distributed to Marathas.
