NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora stated that the ruling Mahayuti alliance is united and strong, contrasting it with the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Deora, who is contesting against Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray in the Worli assembly seat, also criticized the MVA for hindering development projects in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
"The Mahayuti is united and contesting elections with full strength. I can't say the same about the MVA," said Deora.
The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the Shiv Sena led by chief minister Eknath Shinde, BJP, and NCP, faces a tough challenge from the MVA, which includes NCP (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT), and Congress, in the upcoming November 20 assembly elections.
Deora further asserted that Maharashtra voters will reject the MVA's claim that the Constitution is under threat. He believes this narrative, prominent during the Lok Sabha elections, has been disproven.
He pointed to the Eknath Shinde-led government's infrastructure projects and schemes launched in the past six months as evidence of progress. “I think the Haryana election win (of BJP) has also debunked the fake narrative that was being spread in Haryana too. I am confident that the fake narrative is over. Now, it (elections) will be purely on development and who wants to take Mumbai and Maharashtra forward,” he stated.
Deora also criticized Aaditya Thackeray and the MVA for what he called "speed breaker politics", citing delays in projects like the Mahalaxmi Racecourse and the Mumbai Metro.
The Worli assembly seat contest has become a high-profile battle with Deora challenging the incumbent Aaditya Thackeray.
