MUMBAI: The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) of Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh chief Prakash Ambedkar and

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi

released a list of 37 candidates, including three from the city, for the

Lok Sabha polls

on Friday.

The VBA mentioned the caste of each candidate.

Ambedkar clarified that the AIMIM would not contest any of the

Lok Sabha

seat in the state but would field candidates for the assembly polls in the state scheduled in September.

The VBA said the remaining names and the manifesto would be released soon. Ambedkar and AIMIM MLA Waris Pathan addressed the media. Dr Anil Kumar, a cardiac surgeon, will contest from Mumbai South, where Congress has announced the name of former MP Milind Deora and where the Shiv Sena may retain sitting MP Arvind Sawant.

Dr Sanjay Bhosale will contest from Mumbai South Central, where the Shiv Sena has almost finalised the candidature of sitting MP Rahul Shewale. Sambhaji Kashid is to contest the LS polls from Mumbai North East.
